A cycle tour of 7 days / 6 Nights


Lake Garda is one of the nicest and also largest lake of Italy, in the south surrounded by moraine hills and in the North enclosed by mountains. Its shape. long and narrow, is similar to a fjord The mild Mediterranean climate makes it an excellent place to enjoy sun, water and nature. The lush green hills are covered with olive groves, lemon and orange trees, palms and vineyards producing excellent wines.  This is an easy tour, suitable for everyone. You will visit the small lake towns like Garda and Peschiera, but also important places like Verona with its beautiful Roman arena. Another nice experience is the ride along the Cycle path of the Mincio, the emissary, which lets out at Peschiera. All these ingredients will make it an enjoyable and relaxing cycle adventure !





Day 1

Individual arrival in Peschiera del Garda

Arrival in Peschiera del Garda, a veritable fortress-city with a lively old town centre completely surrounded by water, an architectural jewel of art and culture. You will stay in a *** star hotel.


Day 2

Round tour Peschiera and Solferino (40 km / 25 miles about + 180m)

Today is your first day by bike: you will cycle among the vineyards of the Lugana area until you reach the village of Solferino, site of the battle, which put an end to the Second War of Independence in 1859. Back along the cycle path to Peschiera and overnight.


Day 3

Desenzano round tour (45 km /28 miles; + 130m or 310m)

In search of another highly valued place on the west bank of the lake, you will ride on to Desenzano for a round tour on the sweet morainic hills. When you arrive in Desenzano,

you have two options: you can continue the cycling tour and visit the beautiful castle of Padenghe sul Garda and the Abbey of Maguzzano or you remain in Desenzano. For the less athletic, the town offers various possibilities to spend several hours relaxing peacefully on the banks of the lake. The centre of Desenzano is the picturesque square, piazza Malvezzi, which lies on the old harbor. Here, inland shipping vessels used to transport goods that were traded on the market. An old portico surrounds the square. Transfer by train from Desenzano (15min) to Peschiera for the overnight.


Day 4 Garda round tour (Ferry-boat + 30 km / 18 miles cycling, about +200m).

Today you will cycle among hills and through little villages. You will take a ferry-boat from to Garda, the village which gives its name to this wonderful lake. Once you arrive in Garda, you cycle to Bardolino, famous for its red wine. Back to Peschiera and overnight.


Day 5 Verona round tour (40 km / 25 miles; + 150m)

Pedal towards Verona, the city of Romeo and Juliet, with the river Adige passing through it. The first 4 km are on a dirt road. Verona is one of the most beautiful cities in Veneto. Don’t miss the Roman Arena, the stunning Church of San Zeno and, naturally, Juliet’s House. Transfer by train from Verona to Peschiera del Garda for the overnight (15 min).


Day 6 Borghetto/Custoza ring tour (40 km / 25 miles; +300m)

Following the river Mincio you’ll cycle along the most famous Italian cycle path, until you reach lovely Borghetto, one of the "most beautiful hamlets of Italy". On the nearby hill you can visit Valeggio, famous for the typical tortellini and the park Sigurtà, a botanic garden of 600,000 square metres, with a real and huge labyrinth. Then you‘ll go on among the hills until Custoza, battle field during the Italian Risorgimento and today well-known for its DOC wine, the "Bianco di Custoza". Finally you’ll go back to Peschiera along quiet country roads.

Level 1/2 The route is mostly on bike paths and low traffic roads. Stretches are flat, without any significant uphill, and with circular routes.
This tour is perfect if you like plains and low pace: you can stop, visit and take many pictures: this tour is suitable for everybody, even for those who are at their first experience of cycling holiday.
